How to Make a Silhouette Print and Cut Card

Today I’m sharing a simple card tutorial using my Silhouette Cameo. I recently received a package of Print & Cut paper and wanted to try it out! If you browse through the Silhouette Online Store and filter just Print & Cut you will find a lot of great designs! I chose this flower banner design for my card. (By the way, all designs are 50% now until 03/27/2014)

First, I opened a blank document in the Silhouette Studio, adjusted the paper size to 8 1/2 x 11 (this is the size of the  Print & Cut paper) and then added my images.

Next I added registration marks to my document. This is very important! The Silhouette uses these marks to accurately cut your design. Once your marks are on the page, you can print the sheet.

Place your printed sheet on your cutting mat and be sure to position it right along the lines or your design will not cut correctly.

Once you send the design to cut on your Silhouette machine, it will search for the registration marks to make sure it cuts the design correctly.

The design will peel off just like a sticker!

I printed out  “Thinking of You” on kraft paper and then cut it in half and placed my flower banner on top. You can print out a saying on the inside if you want, or just leave it blank to write your own message.

Here is the finished card! This is a simple project, but there are so many more great projects to complete with the  Print & Cut paper! You can view a video of sample projects here: Silhouette Print & Cut Projects.

Love this, so cute! Can you just confirm for me though exactly which product at Silhouette is “print & cut paper?” When I click on your link, it takes me to a page full of products and I’m not sure which is the one I need. Thanks very much.
