5 Tips for a Successful Holiday Party

My husband and I are hosting Christmas Eve dinner with our family this year, and since we were moving over the summer we put off hosting parties for a while. Our new house is much bigger than our last which is great for our guests, but more stressful for us! I’ve had to double my party planning prep to be sure that when my guests arrive my house is fully stocked with all of the essentials and exploding with holiday cheer!

Here are a few tips to make your holiday party a success:

Stock up on bathroom essentials: In my guest bathroom I keep a basket with extra toilet paper on the sink so that my guests don’t have to ask for more. I like to keep Cottonelle® on hand for my guests because one roll lasts longer that other brands. There’s nothing more embarrassing than telling your guests you have to slip away to buy more TP!

5 Tips for a Successful Holiday Party

Keep extra versatile table essentials on hand: I constantly stock my party supplies cupboard with solid color paper goods such as plates, cups, napkins, and utensils. When I have a party I set out half holiday themed paper goods and half solid colors. This not only saves money since the solid colored goods are less expensive, but it make re-stocking these items at parties easier!

Purchase functional decor: I recently discovered the Kleenex® Perfect Fit Facial Tissue while shopping in the seasonal aisle at Walmart. I loved the designs on the cannister! They fit perfectly with my Christmas decor and the slim shape takes up little space around the house. Since Kleenex® is a brand I trust I feel confident that my guests will love the soft feel of these tissues.

Set the holiday tone: You don’t want your guests to be bored at your party, so be sure to provide them with lots of fun entertainment! Have your favorite Christmas movies ready to watch, create a holiday playlist, set out board games, or even print out a few coloring pages for the little ones. Last year I made printable activitiy sheets that were a huge hit!

Make inevitable cleanups easier: Another staple I keep on hand are Viva® Paper Towels, they are durable, with a cloth-like texture. Parties are bound to have their messes. We will have plenty of kids running around at our party and we all know what can happen when kids get excited! I like the Choose-A-Sheet Viva® Paper Towels so that I can always choose the right size towel for the mess at hand.
