Candied Party Popcorn
A few weeks ago we went to a birthday party for a friend. I wanted to make a sweet treat for the kids, and adults, to enjoy but didn’t have time to bake anything. I’ve been wanting to make popcorn balls for a while but didn’t have any marshmallows. I looked through my baking cabinet and found candy melts and sprinkles, so I decided to give it a shot with popcorn. It was a hit for ALL of the guests! When we left there was nothing but a few candy melt crumbs left in the bowl. I didn’t plan on writing a blog post for this recipe, so I just snapped a few pics of the final product. But this treat is so easy to make, you really don’t need any “in-process” pics.
Here’s how to make it:
Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat, wax paper, or parchment paper. Then, pop a bag of popcorn and pour it out over your prepared baking sheet. Pick out all of the unpopped kernels. Next, melt your candy melts according to the package directions. For mine, I had to microwave at
Spread out the popcorn mixture as evenly as possible over the sheet then add your sprinkles. Put the sheet in the freezer until the melts have hardened, about 30 minutes. Take the sheet out of the freezer and break up the popcorn mixture into chunks for easy snacking.

Candied Party Popcorn
Ingredients
- 12 oz bag of candy melts
- 1 bag of microwave popcorn
- sprinkles
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat, wax paper, or parchment paper. Then, pop a bag of popcorn and pour it out over your prepared baking sheet. Pick out all of the unpopped kernels.
- Next, melt your candy melts according to the package directions. Once melted, pour it over the popcorn stirring gently with a non-stick spatula or wooden spoon to try and cover all of the popcorn.
- Spread out the popcorn mixture as evenly as possible over the sheet and add the sprinkles.
- Put the sheet in the freezer until the melts have hardened, about 30 minutes. Take out the sheet and break up the popcorn mixture into chunks for easy snacking.
