ProjeX Projecting Arcade Game for Kids (Review)

Keeping my kids busy during these hot summer months can be a tall order. They love to play outside but when the days are in the triple-digits it’s just not possible! We’ve been playing board games, card games, and watching movies but we really wanted to try something new. Fortunately, we recently were sent the ProjeX Arcade Game to try out and it was a lot of fun! All of my kids liked playing it, even my tween. I love that it doesn’t need to be plugged in, you just need 3 AA batteries. If we wanted to take it to a friend’s house or on vacation, no problem. It was so easy to set up and my kids have been enjoying it for days!

How to set up the ProjeX Arcade Game:

  1. Install three BRAND NEW, FRESH “AA” alkaline batteries.
  2. Set ProjeX on a low table, with the projector aimed at the wall. The projector should be 5 feet from the wall.
  3. Slide an image slide into the image slot, rounded side up (if it doesn’t fit, it’s backward).  Blue = easy, red = medium, white = difficult
  4. Plug in both blasters.  Then, if you’re playing solo, unplug one.
  5. Press the red power button. You have 45 seconds to adjust the focus.
  6. Press the red button again to select game 1-5.
  7. Press the blue button to select your level – beginner, advanced, or expert.
  8. To start playing solo or head-to-head, load your blaster by sliding the button on the top. Each reload gives you 6 shots. You can reload at any time.
  9. To start a Co-Op game, where you combine your scores, both players must hold the trigger while they reload.
ProjeX Projecting Arcade Game for Kids (Review)

We set up our ProjeX Arcade Game on a footstool and used one of our living room walls to project the targets. The wall should be a light color and free of any decorations. There are 5 different built-in games and 3 skill levels – beginner, advanced, and expert. We started on beginner but quickly moved to advanced. There are 3 slides to choose from – targets (easy), UFOs (medium), and ducks (difficult). My boys like the ducks the best! You can play solo or with 2 players. You can also play “co-op” with 2 players teams that combine their scores.
