Weekly Journal Prompts: #2

Weekly Journal Prompt - Need inspiration for your journal? Follow these prompts!

Last week we talked about how this year will be different from years past. What will you change? What will remain the same? Are these changes worth putting time and energy into? Hopefully, you were able to make a solid list of the changes that you would like to see in your life and some notes on the steps to take in order to achieve them. This week my writing prompt takes a look into your daily life to evaluate what is working and what is not.

Are you using your time wisely?

At the end of most days, I feel as if I still have so much that was left undone. My ever-growing to do list just keeps getting longer and longer. What did I do all day? What could I have changed? This week I am going to keep my journal with me for 2 days and write down everything I did – literally everything. Did I check Instagram? For how long? Am I focusing on my tasks, or am I easily distracted leaving project half done? I want to make sure that I am using my time wisely so that at the end of the day I am satisfied with my progress.

After the 2 days, I am going to look at what I wrote. How many project or tasks did I finish in full? I feel that I get easily distracted, or maybe overwhelmed, with what I have planned for the day and this leads to an unfinished to do list. Maybe it would be more beneficial to prioritize my tasks for the day. Make a list of Must Do items, then a list of less important tasks. Or make a list of Daily To Do’s and Weekly To Do’s. My goal for this week will be to find out what is most distracting, and how I can make each day more productive.

I am using these weekly prompts to reach my goal of self-discovery and making the events and actions in my daily life more intentional. My intention in sharing them is to hopefully inspire you to keep journaling, or to find your own path!
